چکیده

Speaker identification is a powerful, non-invasive and inexpensive biometric technique. The recognition accuracy however deteriorates when noise levels only affect a specific band of frequency. In this paper we present a sub-band based speaker identification that intends to improve the live-testing performance. Each frequency sub-band is processed and classified independently. We also compare the linear and non-linear merging techniques for the sub-bands recognizer. Support vector machines and Gaussian Mixture models are the non-linear merging techniques that are investigated. Results showed that the sub-band based method used with linear merging techniques enormously improved the performance of the speaker identification over the performance of wide-band recognizers when tested live. A live testing improvement of 9.78% was achieved.

Non-linear modeling, analysis, design and simulation of a solid state power amplifier based on GaN technology for Ku band microwave application

A new non-linear method for design and analysis of solid state power amplifiers is presented and applied to an aluminum gallium nitride, gallium nitride (AlGaN-GaN) high electron-mobility transistor (HEMTs) on silicon-carbide (SiC) substrate for Ku band (12.4 13.6 GHz) applications. With combining output power of 8 transistors, maximum output power of 46.3 dBm (42.6 W), PAE of 43% and linear ga...

Improving Speaker Identification Rate Using Fractals [IJCNN1005]

: This paper reports on a text-dependent speaker identification system that combines Mel-frequency cepstral coefficients with non-linear turbulence information extracted using Multi-Scale Fractal Dimension (MFD). The MFD is estimated using Box-Counting and Minkowiski-Bouligand dimension. The proposed framework is implemented in conjunction with sub-band based speaker identification system. Resu...

Noise Robust Speaker Identification Using Sub-Band Weighting in Multi-Band Approach

Recently, many techniques have been proposed to improve speaker identification in noise environments. Among these techniques, we consider the feature recombination technique for the multi-band approach in noise robust speaker identification. The conventional feature recombination technique is very effective in the band-limited noise condition, but in broad-band noise condition, the conventional...

Speaker identification using subband HMMS

This paper is concerned with optimum band splitting and optimum recombination weights in subband HMM-based speaker identication. In the rst experiment , the full frequency band (8kHz) was split into two subbands, and speaker identication rate was measured for various splitting frequencies and recom-bination weights. It was found that subbands 0-2kHz and 2-8kHz with equal recombination weights g...
